Is it bad if you file down your teeth with a nail file???

my friend just did that but is if bad for her teeth???Is it bad if you file down your teeth with a nail file???
For a small chip on the teeth and you can't go to the dentist right away,,,, people have done this to smooth a rough edge of a break. It takes a little while but don't do too much because if you get into the pulp of the tooth it will really hurt,,,,,but the enamel part will be just fine. The dentist's drill peices use material very simular to a nail file.Is it bad if you file down your teeth with a nail file???
DEFINITELY, IT IS VERY VERY HARMFUL FOR YOUR TEETH........please never indulge into it and ask your friend also to visit a dentist just to see that no permanent damage has been done to those ';filed'; teeth by this DYT technique and if yes, dentist would be able to rectify it .
