Well, you know your post about the dishonest charity store workers? Kinda like this. People expect car sales people to be honest about the vehicle, primarily because being dishonest about the cars being sold carries a physical liability (if not moral liability) if someone gets hurt by a car they sold. Of couse, they arent, but when people cant afford new cars, what do you expect? Most of the time, I think these people are afraid that will hapen even worse with a private party, especially if they dont know much about cars. Theyre thinking that hey, this is an actual store, they arent gonna sell me something bad, however joe blow down the street might. Many people actually think its Safer to buy used from a garage than from a private party.
